About rotate.video
rotate.video does one job: it puts videos the right way up. Phones guess their orientation when you start filming, and they often guess wrong. The result is a clip that plays sideways on a laptop, a TV or a group chat. This site fixes that in a few seconds without an app, an account or an upload.
What you can do here
- Turn a clip 90°, 180° or 270° with a single click.
- Straighten a tilted horizon by a fraction of a degree.
- Flip or mirror a video, for example to correct a front-camera selfie.
- Choose whether the frame expands, crops or fills when the shape changes, and trim the ends before you export.
How it works
The page is a static web app. When you open a file, your browser decodes it with the WebCodecs API and the open-source mediabunny library. For a plain quarter turn the tool doesn't touch a single frame: it rewrites the rotation flag in the file, which is why those exports are lossless and finish almost instantly. Custom angles, flips and crops are rendered frame by frame on your device. If your browser can't decode an unusual format, an open-source converter (ffmpeg.wasm) is loaded to do it locally.
What we promise
- Your video is never uploaded. There is no server-side processing to upload it to.
- No watermark, no signup, no daily limit and no paid tier.
- No cookies or advertising. Visits are counted with cookieless analytics, described in the privacy notes.
Who uses it
Mostly people with a phone video that came out sideways: parents sharing a school concert, teachers preparing a lesson clip, small businesses fixing a product video before posting it, and editors who just need a quick lossless fix without opening a full editing suite. The guides on flipping, mirroring and rotating on iPhone or Android cover the most common situations.
